Summary ALFI


ALFI (Asosiasi Logistik dan Forwarder Indonesia) or ILFA (Indonesia Logistics and Forwarder Assocoations)
Definition of Logistic
According to Yolanda M. Siagian (2005), logistics is defined as part of the supply chain process that functions to plan, implement, control effectively, efficiently the process of procurement, management, storage of goods, services and information starting from the starting point (point of origin) to point of consumption with the aim of meeting consumer needs.
Definition of Forwarder
According to Suyono 2005, Freight Forwarding is a business entity that aims to provide service or management of all activities needed for the delivery, transportation and receipt of goods using multimodal transport both by land, sea and air. According to Ronosentono 2006, p54, Freight Forwarding is a Legal Entity that executes orders to deliver cargo from one or several owners of goods, collected from one or several places, to the final destination through a system of traffic control of goods and documents, using one or several types of transportation, with or without having the means of transportation in question.
Definition of ALFI
                    ALFI (Asosiasi Logistik dan Forwarder Indonesia) / Gafeksi (Gabungan Forwarder dan Ekspedisi INDONESIA) is an organization for business people in the field of forwarding, ship and air cargo expeditions (EMKL & EMKU) The organizational structure is at the central level called the Central Board of Directors, at the Regional Level (Region I / Province) called the Regional Management Board, at the Branch Level (Level II / Regency / Municipality) called the Branch Management Board as well as in certain regions or centers of transportation, trade and Industry centers called ALFI / GAFEKSI Special Representatives .

Vision of ALFI
               Making members as architects of freight transportation for logistics and distribution that are globally competitive.

Mission of ALFI
      Support government policies in national economic development programs.
      Developing forwarding and logistics services at home and abroad and developing customs service management companies in the country.
      Develop members' ability as the backbone of the smooth flow of goods mobility.
      Making forwarding, logistics and business activities in customs service management as a globally competitive industry; and
      Making members as professionals in the field of forwarding, logistics and businessman handling customs services oriented to customer satisfaction.

History of ALFI
               Beginning with the birth of GAFEKSI / INFA (Joint Indonesian Forwarders and Expedition Association) on July 25, 1989 as the only association that developed the FF service industry and Customs in Indonesia.

INFA is a combination of three previous associations, namely:

·       GAVEKSI is an association that carries out the work of sea transportation and customs services in ports, including controlling government warehousing.
·       INFFA is the FF Association and Customs Services which is licensed by the Ministry of Commerce and the Customs Office, which is also a member of FIATA
·       AEMPU is an association that carries out air transport services and customs services, gets a license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Customs Office, and becomes a member of FIATA.

At the Extraordinary National Conference in Denpasar, Bali in 2010, agreed to change the association name to ALFI / ILFA (Association of Logistics and Indonesian Forwarders / Indonesian Logistics & Forwarders Association).

As a Professional Organization, ALFI / GAFECTION Business objectives, roles and functions prioritize efforts:
·         Collecting, fostering and developing the business of its members to be able to participate more in improving the welfare of the nation and state of Indonesia.
·         Protect members' interests and prevent unhealthy competition in the world of transportation services.
·         Protect the interests of the transportation service industry by upholding ethics and professionalism / expertise of the members in anticipating developments that will occur both nationally and internationally.
·         Increase and knowledge of members in the field of transportation services in line with technological advances in various fields.
·         Disseminate the function and role of transportation and expedition services as an economic means in realizing the management system of shipping and managing goods quickly, safely and economically, in the broadest sense.
·         Helping members to develop and improve the power of their business, by perfecting governance, organization and administration in the context of modernizing transportation, land, sea and air services and in an integrated manner.

1.      Description: FAPAAFAPAA (The Federation of Asia Pacific Aircargo Associations)
The Federation of Asia Pacific Aircargo Associations (FAPAA) was formed in 1985 and has grown stadily to now include 19 countries and regions within the asia pacific region.

2.      Description: KADINKADIN INDONESIA
Indonesian employers organizations engaged in the economi. This organizations was etablished on september 24 1968.


3.      FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association)
Description: FIATA
FIATA, a non government organization, represent today an industry covering approximately 40.000 forwarding and logistics firms.

4. AFFA (ASEAN Federations of Forwarders Associations)
Description: AFFAIs a regional intergovermental organization comprising 10 Southest Asian states which promotes freight forwarding throught intergovermental cooperation and facilitates cargo.

Transport or Transportation is a movement of humans, animals, and goods. From one location to another location.Using a vehicle with the help of either humans, animals, or machine.

There are 3 main concept of transportation. Those are Trip, Origin, and Destination.

Modes of Transport:

  • Pipeline




Air Transportation
Air Transportation is Transport system has controlling the movement of goods and humans by air transportation such as airplane or helicopter with all fasilities.

Advantages
a.Fast and efficient system
b.Suitable for important and sensitive things, easily rotting things, and expensive things
c.Can reach the difficult area

d.Enabling free movements

Disadvantages
a.Expensive
b.Totally depens on : Weather and easily bothered by other particles in air
c.High cost in airport maintenance
d.Big sizes plane cannot land in a small sized airport
e.Loud noises and pollution can be occured

History of Air Transportation


       Based on the use of pigeons as transporting information between regions, even between continents, is sufficient to overcome the need for speed of movement of information but is limited to the capacity of goods transport. Learning from the natural ability, the development of automotive technology, electronics, mechanics in the business of the embodiment of a technology that quickly and comfortably move passengers and goods in greater numbers to distant places. Aircraft, helicopters, hydrofoil and other types of air transport. 

      Heavier airplane flying from the air was first flown by the Wright Brothers (Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright) using its own design plane called the Flyer, which was launched in 1903 in the United States.

The Type of Aircraft
1.Airliner
       Civilian passenger aircraft (UK: airliner) is an aircraft or aircraft used to carry civilian passengers along with luggage and cargo (with a certain capacity).
      
      2. Seaplane
     This aircraft can land in the medium of beach, rive   lake and sea. This aircraft only has a capacity of 2 - 6 passengers so that the aircraft is usually used for personal or natural conservation activities 
    
      3. Biplane
    When looking at this plane we will remember the early manufacture of the plane by the wright brothers, which were used on many aircraft in the early years of flight. So the plane is a classic aircraft with a capacity of 2 people and is used for private ownership.
4. Glider
       This aircraft has a distinctive characteristic that is different from the other is longer wing, the same as seaplane and biplane this plane is a plane of private ownership.

5. Helicopter
Aircraft that use propellers and do not have wings is called helicopter with a capacity of 2 - 5 people and commonly used for media activities, military etc.

6. Cargo plane
Freight plane or cargo plane is an aircraft used for the transport of goods or other commodities

Business Air Transportation
The main component of the airline business is the airline. The airline is an organization that provides aviation services for passengers or goods. The airline company rent or owns an aircraft to provide transportation services.
